soy nog, anyone?

officially obsessed. and will go in to mourning when the holidays are over.
best. stuff. ever.

more importantly
today a little guy I know turned FOUR!!!

Happy Birthday Paddy!
When I called today I said "happy birthday!!!" his reply : "happy birthday!" hahaha. So I said, "Happy Birthday to YOU" - and he said "oh"
so silly.

keeping busy...

This morning I was talking to my dad and told him I had made a Christmas outfit for Hudson - "from scratch"...blah blah...and he said something to the effect of how I have been cranking out projects... I said that's what happens when you feel stir crazy in a house!!

Here are my trees - I made them for six measly dollars!

Christmas came to our house all the way from St Louis...thanks Angela!! I will have some pics of H in his hat very soon!!!

So -- project #5,223,134

Upholstering a foot stool/ottoman from my Grandaddy's house.
First of all - it is lopsided to start with, yes?? Please say yes....?
Leaning to the right?
(Just talked to my mom - she saw the picture of the lopsided ottoman and said "I am sure it's from 30+ years of Granny propping her feet on it! I like that. And I will keep it's lopsided appearance just how it is!)
Well anyway - minor details.
I bought foam on sale, and glued it on top

with the help of this little munchkin

and monster

cute fabric - it's 'slate' and i loooove the color - with a fun design
While I was cutting the fabric, I was using these big ol' silvery scissors that came in a box full of thread from my Grandparent's house. It was all of Granny's old stuff. Kind of crazy, but every time those scissors cut - the noise made me think of my Granny and Mom sitting on the floor together, cutting out patterns for dresses for my sister and I.  Weird how a certain noise or smell does that, huh?

tadaaa!
and yes. its leaning. i know.

It's obviously not perfect. I have things I would do differently next time. BUT - it was my first thing to upholster. I made the cord thingy and figured out that I needed to change the foot on the sewing machine part way through - the zipper foot made the stitch a lot closer/tighter against the rope

this is my next project to upholster - the chair

and H's Christmas outfit! Button holes are in place, with some help I have the truck applique on there...now just need to put the buttons on!!

Hudson had his 4 month check up this week - aaaand he is closing in on 17 lbs. Yep. 17 pounds. I mean, I thought maybe a little over 15....?

Tummy tiiiiime - and so stinkin cute.

It always helps to have moral support. Eloise is so very helpful.

Growing so fast and drooling away!

(ps. these pants. to. die. for. they are red corduroy with little green trees. love. I am not ashamed to put him in them every day until Christmas...)

photo dump

I am not real sure what happened to the month of November..... last time I checked it was Halloween??? It was a busy month - now I am going to cram it all in at warp speed...here we go

Rock n' Roll Marathon started the month off -- H with his daddy at the expo
and of course Pat ran real fast

We took a trip to Birmingham - our first visit as a family of 3!

That's just my baby daddy ;)
...so cute
I am still trying to decide who Hudson looks like...this is Pat at 8 months old

big boy loves his jumper - he just needs a little help with pillows for those short chunky legs

thanksgiving!
Pat is smokin' the turkey while Stephen made us a delicious feast

mi familia - minus mom (she's behind the camera) - she tries to act like she's not as crazy as the rest of us...but we all know the truth :)

H thought that stuffin' muffin looked de-licious. look at all of the facial expressions!

hanging with paddy and learning all about the ipad

i LOVE this picture of little turkey!

headed to the broderick house for the rest of thanksgiving day!

wedding time!!!
Adele and Jordan got hitched!
the wedding was beautiful and we had so much fun!!!

Hudson got his first booboo. We're not gonna talk about how it happened
see it on his wee little nose?

moving on up - he's not in our room any more :(
i may or may not have shed a tear or two.......

man...its a rough life to be a baby

lil' irish! his daddy is so proud

alright. project time. this is what i have put patrick through this last month ;)

we dug up 6 huge boxwoods that created a green wall in front of our house - they HAD to go...

i made this little burlap pillow with our initials

and then Eloise ate it

we added board and batten to Hudson's room (sorry a lot of these are iphone pictures...you get the idea)

thanks to pinterest I found a cute whale to paint

i busted out this green corduroy jumper -
i have some mean sewing skills....bahahahaha - yeah right. but hey, i am learning

We made cinnamon ornaments with 2 of our children's foot prints, the third - well - we opted out of that one. Sophie Mophie isn't real fond of being touched, much less having her paw smashed into gooey dough

and I have my PIANOOOO - so excited

last but not least - IT'S A GIIIIRL!! we can't wait to meet little nora ingram in just a few short months (well...long months for my sister, short for me!)
