first birthday

Today we celebrated Hudson's 1st birthday with our wonderful friends and family. We are so thankful that everyone came to party with us - and I am so appreciative of all of the help to get this together (with less than a month until tiny baby arrives!)

amelia island vacation

We spent last week in Amelia Island with the Broderick's and had so much fun!!

We may or may not have had a second 'tiny baby wants out' scare one night. It also may or may not have included being up all night, a 2 hour round trip drive for Pat to the closest 24 hour pharmacy to get some medicine, and instructions for me to LAY DOWN!!!

Such a fun time. On the last day we realized it was our first and last trip as a family of 3...........weird.

Auntie Adele made some fabulous homemade strawberry ice cream the other day. I mean fabulous. Hudson had a spend the night party with his Mimi and Grandpa and at dinner that night was spoiled by some of the yummy ice cream. Looks like he started in Adele's lap, went to Jordan, then scooted on down to Grandpa to make sure he cleaned out the bowls. Before Patrick and I got married I always heard, "you're not a Broderick if you don't love ice cream" - looks like Hudson passes the test!

da-da

We are trying REALLY hard to get this little guy to say 'da da'. Yesterday Patrick was mowing the lawn and I would say "where's da da?"  Hudson would crawl/walk over to the window and peek up over the edge to see his Daddy - along with his bff Eloise - and smile so big.

Then Elle and Hudson moved on to other things - like destroying magazines together...

1 month and counting until someone turns ONE year old!

a little different...

This July 4th was a little different than last year. We've been in Savannah for a year, there is no heinous wallpaper in our kitchen or bathroom, the den is no longer the color of poop -- oh, and we have an 11 month old :)

Last year my family was here frantically de-wallpapering, painting, scraping, painting some more, removing drywall, replacing drywall, unpacking and organizing for their oh-so-pregnant daughter. Thanks to them it was all fixed up in time for us to bring a baby home.

So here we are! 1 year later - this time the Ingram's got to visit without being put to work :)

There was baby pool time, walks to the playground, beach visits, fireworks, grilling, a little swimming for Eloise and a lot of playing!
